In round 1, Mark was under attack, but had everything under control and was looking good till move 32, as far as I can see.

Or, as the website says Op zet 32 ging het definitief mis. Bluvhstein speelde 32.Tdc1? Aangewezen was 32.Tb1,Ld7 33.Tb2,Txb2 34.Pxb2,Pf6 waarmee het witte nadeel binnen de perken was gebleven.

After 8 rounds, Mark is tied for first with 6/8 (+5, =2, -1). My guess he will have Black for the last round tomorrow with Bulgarian GM Dejan Bojkov, 2542, who is undefeated (+4 =4)

I went through this game trying to find where black went wrong. His big mistake seems to be 24..Nf8, even though the move looks logical defensively.

The knight was better off in the centre. If white continued with his f5 idea, then black should liquidate the pieces (Nxc5 and such).

I hate how in some advanced games it seems like the player doesn't do much wrong, yet get crushed in 20-30 moves.
