I would like to express my appreciation to the efforts of Hal Bond for the timely posting of the game results after round 2 and after round 3. It seems like i am part of the tournament.

Also the games posted is a bonus.

Just my notes:

U2000: Adam Cormier is mowing down the opposition. I feel that he is an expert player eversince i played a rapid game with him in Brantford last August 2010. Go get 2 more wins Adam.....

Round 5 under way

Sambuev and Cormier remain perfect in their respective sections. Adam finally squares off against top seeded Stuart Brammal in the U2000 while Bator has Black against Arthur Calugar, who recoverd from a very unpleasant position against Kitchener Expert Paul Becker and proceded to quickly win a R+B vs R ending.

Sergey Noritsyn leads the U1600 with 3.5. One of the more impressive performances is coming from 8 year old Davy Zhao, 1508, who is playing in the U2000 section. He outplayed Canadian U12 Champion Terry Song in the second round but coul not convert the B+N ending (this time at least). He has a 1950 performance going into round 5.
