  • Did Jeffrey Sarwer, the poor little tyke, disappear?

    No, not finally.

Lo and behold, a picture of a smiling and handsome Jeffrey Sarwer has recently appeared on the US Chess Federation site (main.uschess.org/content/view/11008/621).

A computer beat me in chess, but it was no match when it came to kickboxing

This is not news. He has been extremely active in the poker world for the last few years. Here's an interview done last year with him:

        Jeff Sarwer - Doing Well

I think lots of chess players are very simpathetic to the Sarwer story, feel Jeff had great chess potential as a child, that never was realized ( he was U 10 World Champion ), and are glad to see that he seems to be functioning well, and doing well ( as well as becoming somewhat of a celebrity on the poker circuit ).

It would be great if he could again play competitive chess, if he still enjoys it, since it was such a major influence in his younger life ( with no expectations of having to do " well " if he plays for the sheer enjoyment of it ).
