As of this weekend, we are up to 60 players, and have already exceeded the prize fund predicted in the event announcement. If you mail your registration payment by tomorrow, Monday February 28th, please take off the $20 double-early discount. After then, unless you pay extra for some super fast mail, you should just send me an email, and then pay onsite before the first round. Doing so by 7pm guarantees a Swiss pairing for 730pm. Paying onsite would cost $10 more, and I would love a heads-up email! Please note that I am working on Thursday evening, and thus will not be attending the RA chess club at the regular playing session this week. However, I expect to re-post the list of registered players by Friday morning, with updated ratings (CFC, FIDE, FQE, etc.)
Also for local chess fans, I am offering to organize billeting of travelling players. The standard rate will be $30 per person per night. If you are interested in hosting your chess-bed-n-breakfast, please email me to be included on a confidential list. If a travelling player asks to be billeted, I will BCC you their email address, and some relevant info about them, and you can decide on your own if you would like to extend the offer. There is no obligation to host anyone.
Yours in chess,
Aris Marghetis, FIDE Arbiter
