IM Leon Piasetski finished with 5/9 in the 155-player Reykjavik Open in Iceland.

Master Charles Filion (recently ftom Montreal; living in Argentina for the last few years) finished with 5/7 (good for 3rd place) in the IRT Posadas tournament in Argentina (56 players, 1 GM, 5 IM's).

I scored a delicious 1.5/5 in the open (approx >2000) section of the Blackpool chess congress last weekend, losing 2 or 3 games from what my coach called "unloseable positions" (round 1 was debatable). I showed him!

In round 1, I was one of the "live games" vs an IM, with my name being pretty close as "Ettosen".

        Yes.

        Leon's performance rating was 2269
        Brad's performance rating was 1874

        probably disappointing to both.

To keep it in perspective, Leon's loses came against 2500 players and one 2400 player. I didn't see any of the games so don't know if it was simply an expectation which is built into the elo system of difference in strength.
