  • Closed - some games with/needing corrections

There are several Monroi games in which the PGN files (or the main gamescore) have been trashed. Here is one I was able to correct:

    [Event "CAN-ch"]
    [Site "Guelph CAN"]
    [Date "2011.05.07"]
    [Round "2"]
    [White "Jung, Hans"]
    [Black "Anastasovski, Nikola"]
    [Result "1-0"]
    [PlyCount "80"]
    [EventDate "2011.05.06"]
    [EventType "swiss"]
    [EventRounds "9"]
    [EventCountry "CAN"]

    1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 d5 5. exd5 Na5 6. Bb5+ c6 7. dxc6 bxc6 8.
    Be2 h6 9. Nh3 Bd6 10. d3 O-O 11. Nc3 Nd5 12. Bf3 Be6 13. Ng1 f5 14. Nge2 Qc7

    Qe7 40. c4 Qc7 1-0

There are two more with problems - can someone check the original scoresheets:

Qin-Anastasovski (R3) - move 39 for White is illegal (and thus subsequent moves).
Stevens-Guo (R3) - move 33 for White is illegal (and thus subsequent moves).

If the players do not keep score on a good old paper sheet, there is a great danger that some games may be lost forever if measures are not taken immediately after the rounds to complete and correct the Monroi gamescores.

I certainly would hope that the local Monroi device (the one the player has) records the moves correctly and potential problems would likely be with the server or with the transmission to the internet... Once the game is recorded locally, it should be almost impossible to alter it on the handheld device? Who knows really - other than Monroi.

This would be little consolation if ultimately flawed gamescores end up in databases, for one reason or another.

Rd 4 : I see Mills - Hansen starting with 1.h3, but no other moves. Is that so ?

It looks like the two questionable games about which I posted previously have been corrected. I will post about any other "problem" games I run into.

Mills-Hansen seems to be OK now.

              More corrections, errors, etc.

Round 1 from Monroi: Filipovich appears twice. His win against Upper was actually a win for Hamilton (not Filipovich).

Round 1 from Monroi: Drkulec appears twice. His win against Haessel was actually a win for Panjwani (not Drkulec).

Round 5 - Noritsyn-Panjwani: Monroi shows the illegal 62.... Kf5 (and subsequent moves).

Strange. We were following this game on monroi, monroi system, and live - it had several glitched but they were corrected. And even the end position was in the system.

62... Kf5 is marked as ?, meaning that smth is wrong. I think the correct move is a check Ra4+
