New leaders share the lead at the penultimate round of the U18 Open section. IM Calugar finally emerges from the shadows while Lacester scores hard earned wins to lead the field with 4.5 points after 6 rounds.
Calugar defeated earstwhile leader Wang in only 21 moves of a Sicilian Garnd Prix while Laceste defeated Brendan Fan.
The 2 leaders will play each other in the final round in what could be the championship gamee of the U18 Open.
Martchenko, Kleinman and Wang, any of them, still have mathemathecal chacnes of finishing equal first.
