  • Rd 5: Another nail-biting win by GM Mikhalevski

I am amazed at how easy GM Mikhalevski extracted the full point from IM Mulyar, doing so in the first time control.

    Presented below is their game.

Patience and persistence. I think IM Mulyar was definitely in the game, and maybe better at some point, but (in time shortage?) overlooked the looseness of his own king and succumbed to a mating net. What I admire most is the c7-c5 pawn lever by Black earlier in the game - a high class, tricky pawn move idea that didnt seem to pan out in the later stages, although it created intersting play.
