Many thanks to Lee and Rob.:)
Another wonderful day of chess amidst the elements.
Chess outdoors is so enjoyable. The brief showers didn't spoil the event as the site provides shelter from the rain. However, the wind does require the use of numerous weights to avoid the boards blowing away....just part of the charm of the event.

The next one is just 3 weeks away. No need to let the rain keep you away. :D

A day of chess in the fresh air was enjoyed Sunday. We had young blood (Razvan), old blood (Rob G, John V, Keith W, John E and Bob G), cold blood (Adam) :) and some rare blood (Peter B). We managed to remain dry while it rained thanks to the overhead coverings--good to know for future events.

Congratulations to Razvan for taking the first prize (enraved mug donated by Lee Hendon and a $20 Coles gift certificate). Lee Hendon (Lee returned the prize for use at a later tournament, thanks) and Brian McDonald won $10 and $5 Coles certificates, respectively.

Thank you to all that entered for helping to raise $195 (all the entry monies, plus some extra donations) as well as donating somewhere around 200 lbs of food. A special thank you to the out-of-towners that helped make the tournament a success.

We will be posting the details for the next fundraising tournament August 28--same time same place.

First of all, congratulations to our young future master Razvan - for winning the tournament over a vetran campaigner.

Secondly, congratulations for successfully raising funds and food.

I wish i was part of the tournament.

I am excited to come on the 28th.
