Getting back on topic, it looks like Kevin O'Leary now has his own show.

Now, really getting back on topic.
Here is an excellent clip discussing why we should be questioning our economic system. Again, a lot of this relates specifically to the US.

Bob, do you want to come to Ottawa for Oct. 15th; there is a rally on this topic at Parliament Hill that day...

              Sure, sounds great! :D
Will there be one in Toronto? A little closer to home. :)

these "protests" are probably the stupidest thing i've ever seen
everytime it hurts, it hurts just like the first (and then you cry till there's no more tears)

It's quite funny. Protesting and picketing the people and organizations who might sponsor chess events.

The chess players should start an Occupy the CFC protest.

                  Some worthy slogans might be:

                  No big Prizes, No Play.

My renewal cheque is in the mail.

                  Eliminate the Foundation.

Ben, your comment is probably one of the stupidest things that I have seen.

Here is an example of a very smart collective response to Fox news at a protest...

                      Paul,

This interview with Naomi Klein explains the movement very well:

                        Re: Occupy Wall Street protest

The Tumblr site is a very graphic portrayal of some of the people who are protesting:

                        http://wearethe99percent.tumblr.com/

I am sympathetic to the people who suffered some sort of health issue and now find themselves bankrupt. As Max Keiser notes, people will happily sign up to Groupon and other collectives to get a discount on sushi, but object to the same idea being used for health care.

However, I strongly object to the demand that university/college education be "free". I regularly listen to the Peter Schiff show:

                        www.schiffradio.com

A couple months ago a young lady phoned in to complain about her student debt. She went to Brown University and majored in social work. Her debt load was $80K. Her yearly income as a social worker? Roughly $25K. What sort of idiot goes 80 grand into debt to get a job that pays almost nothing? No way people should be allowed to weasel out of student loan debt. If you want to get a good general education, and you don't have the money, go to the library.

PSE should be supported by taxpayers just like the k-12 educational system is. The abolition of tuition fees would raise the general educational levels of society.

Yeah, right! All it will do is encourage professional students. Maybe add some basket weaving courses. Chess as a credit course.

I know a guy who takes history courses for something to do. He's over 70 and pays for them. His memory isn't very good so he's taken the same course a couple of times. Told me it's new to him every time. :)

                            We should pay for this?

The ultimate experiment in student run alternative education was Rochdale College in Toronto.
