Re: Occupy Wall Street protest
There is a court case winding its way through the justice system in Windsor where a policeman is charged with violently assaulting and seriously injuring a visually impaired young medical specialist. The doctor was charged with assaulting a policeman but the court stayed that charge and the policeman was actually charged with mischief for laying that charge.Originally posted by Christopher Mallon View PostActually I think I heard assaulting a police officer. Apparently while he was busy writhing in pain he kicked the scooter over and the cop got scraped in the fall.
Probably a non-starter, imagine the kind of legal pain the Lawyers Guild of America can bring if they don't let him go right away? :p
Apparently the young doctor who was/is doing some additional specialty training possibly in London got off the train and then jogged to his parents house some miles away. He passed through a major city park where there had been reports of some weirdo ogling the young girls at the tennis courts. The policeman happened upon this other guy as he was passing through the park and wrongly decided that this was the perv and that he would issue some frontier justice. The doctor was seriously injured from what I read but the scary thing is that if it had been a different jogger, one who didn't have high status of a medical professional, would the courts have believed his incredible story of being assaulted by a police officer for no legitimate reason?

I didn't see him. I've never seen him other than in pictures. Saw cell phones being used. I must be really disenfranchised because I don't have one.Originally posted by Vlad Drkulec View PostDid they show Bob G on tv?

Actually Gary, the movement is doing just fine.
Unfortunately, for one reason or another, I haven't made it down there yet to lend my support, but I look forward to joining in on saturday in Toronto.
Global rallies are planned for Oct 29th (saturday) in support of the Robin Hood Tax. :D

Bob, I have respect to individuals with socialist point of view. But how you can justify the reason why welfare people should be entitled to the funds that they didn't earn in addition to what they get now?Originally posted by Bob Gillanders View PostGlobal rallies are planned for Oct 29th (saturday) in support of the Robin Hood Tax. :D

Re: Occupy Wall Street protest
what? The occupy wall street movement is not about welfare. It is about the massive income and wealth disparity between the wealthiest 1% and everyone else. It is about money corrupting governments and threatening democracy.Originally posted by Ernest Klubis View PostBob, I have respect to individuals with socialist point of view. I invite you to investigate the movement a little more thoroughly.Last edited by Bob Gillanders; Tuesday, 25th October, 2011, 01:01 PM.

I agree. The so-called elite sit atop the pyramid of wealth and power because there IS a pyramid to sit on.Originally posted by Bob Gillanders View Postwhat? Re: Occupy Wall Street protest
We demand that our G20 leaders immediately impose a 1% ROBINHOOD tax on all financial transactions and currency trades. Let's send them a clear message: We want you to slow down some of that $1.3-trillion EASY MONEY that's sloshing around the global casino each day – enough cash to fund every social program and environmental initiative in the world.Originally posted by Bob Gillanders View PostThere is extensive information about the Robin Hood tax in the link I provided above. Enjoy.
Very innovative idea. I like it a lot. All financial transactions and currency trades haven't been taxed before in the history. Why don't you become a leader of a new ROBINHOOD party and all of us, 99% eligible voters vote for you, in the next general election?A computer beat me in chess, but it was no match when it came to kickboxing
