With the support of our sponsors: Quebec Chess Federation(FQE), Coopoly and Polycopie, the committee Polyjeux of UdeM, McGill Chess Club and Concordia Chess Club are co-hosting the Universities Open Championship of Montreal.
We minimize the entry fees and maximize price!
Here are the infomations of the tournament:
Date: Saturday, November 19 from 9:45 to 18h(1st round at 10am).
Special Service: Free pizza for participants at noon!
Where: Ecole Polytechnique (Galerie Rolland, B-600.16, 6th floor)
2500, Chemin de Polytechnique Montreal, Quebec Canada H3T 1J4.
Format: 1 Section using 5 rounds Swiss system. Open to all students or staff (eg teachers) of university or CEGEP. FQE rated.
Prize Guarantee: $ 320 based on 60 paid entries: 1st: $ 100(Gift card in Coopoly bookstore)+60$cash, 2nd 80(Gift card in Coopoly bookstore) + 40$cash and 3rd $ 60(Gift card in Coopoly bookstore)+20$ cash.
Team Prizes: trophy for top 3 teams represent their university(At least 3 players per university in order to be accessible to this) + medals.
To note that the price may increase if we have more participants.
Registration fee: $ 3 pre-register by email (see below) or $ 5 (30min before the event).
Time Control: 30min/mat Or 20min/mat with 10s increment per move.
