  • Anand wins game 6, goes up by 3 wins

Game 6 has just finished in Bonn, and GM Vishy Anand won in 47 moves over GM Vladimir Kramnik, from the White side of a Classical Nimzo-Indian, by a nice promotion combination. This latest win :)puts him up 3-0 in wins and 4.5-1.5 in points, in the match which is scheduled for 12 games.

It's quickly turning into a rout, surprising almost everyone. It seems that GM Kramnik's tactical form, as shown in games 3 and 5 especially, both of which he lost with the White pieces, is not quite up to the task of a title fight against GM Anand. Kramnik has not had a significant advantage at any stage of any game so far.

Yea, it really looks to be over with such a huge lead in a 12 game match.

It is time for Kramnik to make +3 in the next 6 games :)

Anand is champion, so won't Kramnik need to go +4 if he wants the title back?

If Kramnik makes +3 in the 2nd half, the match is tied, and goes to tiebreaks.

Thanks, John. It's a cruel world now that a champion actually has to defend his title by winning. Botvinnik must be spinning in his grave.
