  • New Book: Calypso Chess

Here is an interesting (in the curious sense) new games book by FM Philip A. Corbin. He is a 7-time champion of Barbados.

Having a fondness for games books from lesser-known players, I have to get it.

I got it delivered today and have been looking at it during lunch. I'm quite impressed by the writing and production values. At 440 8.5" x 11" pages for 300 games and some biographical details, it's a breezy-looking read. Looks like another great amateur book!

Thank you for mentioning this book!
I got it yesterday (ordered on Jan 6) and I am enjoying it.
I opened randomly at page 261 - a game vs. S. Weermantry and I liked the brief analysis, the introduction and the conclusion of the game that all together tell a nice story.
The famous Elephant Game win against an IM from Slovenia is a must read.
