  • Top Chesstalk Posters of the Year

Congratulations to Gary Ruben and Vlad Drkulec for posting the most often this year!

Congratulations to Hugh Brodie and Sylvain Millette for being the top new thread makers.

Congratulations to top newcomers Marcus Wilker and Denton Cockburn.

The posters who generated the most replies were Paul Beckwith and
Gary Ruben, Climate Change, and Bob Gillanders, Occupy Wall Street, while WYCC was the top chess topic along with Hans Jung's blindfold epic.

Contact Larry Bevand to collect your prizes.

I suspect that Larry Bevand is the top poster to generate business for Strategy Games.

I can't believe the climate change topic is still on here... I think that posts made on that subject should not be counted towards this award -_-
    Shameless self-promotion on display here

Wow, I totally blew away the competition as the top action creator, by nearly a factor of two. I always had the feeling that I was being closely followed by a number of "groupies". This is quite an honor...

Re: Top Chesstalk Posters of the Year

The two top threads, way ahead of all others, in terms of views are:

Chess For Peace - Larry Bevand - 278,273
Poll: Where will Kovalchuk end up?! - ben daswani - close but no cigar

Everything else is way behind. Of course, these are surprises. My guess: some term in each thread has generated a lot of bot-action. Spiders, y'know? In this, as in the other, case, it should be quality that counts.

Actually at the height of the Kovalchuk thread, I went to google and typed "Where will Kovalchuk end up?" and it was like the #3 result. So probably lots of random people visiting the site.

Also, I'm pretty sure vB doesn't count robots as views, at least not the known robots.

I nominate Hans Jung for best chess content. "Blindfold chess"

But these include distinctly non-chess 'action'. ?? Clearly Bob A. is #1 as Larry created the board....

How can a man with such a FIDE profile picture not be an FM?

I didn't know that either. Where did you see that?

P.S. This is not to denigrate Kevin's ability in any way, as he always kicks my chess a$$

Erik lists Kevin Pacey as an FM in his original post. Of course I am not serious, by checking his FIDE page one can quickly see there is no title listed. I was just pointing out an error.
