We have now filled all available spots in the John Schleinich Memorial. You can view the final list of the 48 registered players on the website:

There is still a chance for cancellations (non-refundable) so I am asking players to join the reserve list in the event that a player must cancel prior to the start of the tournament. There is no cost to get on the reserve list (just send me an email) and if there is a cancellation, we will pick from the available list and select the player whose rating is closest to the player who withdraws. If you are chosen to fill in, you will have to pay the $30 registration fee.
We will not do the pairings until Wednesday, January 18 at the earliest. The pairings will be available on the website no later than Thursday, January 19 by 8pm or so. We must wait for the most current ratings before we can finalize the sections.
There are several players who need to renew their CFC memberships. All CFC memberships must be paid BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT BEGINS. If your membership has not been renewed, you will not be allowed to play. You can pay online on the CFC site, or any Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at the Calgary Chess Club. If you plan on renewing your CFC membership at the tournament site prior to the first round, please arrive no later than 6:45pm on Friday, January 20 to do so.
It looks like it will be a great event, but be prepared to be cramped. All tables will have 3 boards (one section per table). Remember, byes are not an option. Please make every effort to play each and every game in your section.
