  • Team-Quebec : Week 3

Last Saturday, the Team-Quebec's players had lessons from FM Lefong Hua and IM Renier Castellanos (in English).

The participants also had an original exercice : they had to create their own problems.
It can be rather easy to solve problems, but it is much harder to create some. Creating chess problems allows the participants to develop new skills.

Of course, all the problems weren't great, some were not working at all, while some were impossible (one student composed a problem with 9 white pawns), but here are some interesting ones:

Black played 1... g1=Q, then White mated in 5 (Chang Yun, Group 1)

White to play and draw (Eddie Yang, Group 3)

Finally, every week some points are attributed for the excellence of the work during the lessons and the exercices. The winners will receive prizes at the end of the year.

    This week, the winners are:
Group 1 : Myriam Roy (lessons), Chang Yun (exercices)
Group 2 : William Yip (lessons), Sheng Ming Gu (exercices)
Group 3 : Ananda Saha (lessons), Eddie Yang (exercices)
