The EOCA (Eastern Ontario Chess Association) is pleased to announce the next event of our 2011-2012 Grand Prix, the 2012 Ottawa Spring Open. Last year, this tournament hit a prize fund of $2600, and we are working hard to reach at least as much this year. Also, with over 60 players last year, we are planning for 4 sections this year (with different rating cutoffs than last year), which should ensure 5 great games for everyone, regardless of skill level.

2 other key points :

1) Registrations/payments by the end of March, take advantage of the $30 triple-early discount. So far, I expect to drop by the RA club this Thursday.

2) We are changing our floater mechanism. If you are onsite and are interested in playing a free game, ask me, and if that section has an odd number for that round, I will try to get you in, with or without current CFC membership. We need all levels of floaters, and preferences will be given for multiple rounds.

Good morning, I expect to be at the RA club tonight, from about 7pm to 730pm. Please note that as of now, for next Thursday March 29th, that I am currently scheduled to work. Therefore, if you want to take advantage of the $30 triple-early March discount IN PERSON, tonight will probably be your last chance. Cheques also welcome tonight.

Hi again, as of now, for this Thursday, March 29th, I am currently scheduled to work from 7pm to midnight. Therefore, I do not expect to be at the RA club to take payments in person. As this Thursday is the last one in March, if you have not yet paid, and still want to take advantage of the March $30 triple-early discount, then please consider using snail mail. Hi chess fans, I am going to the mailbox later today to pick up registrations, and I will post the pre-registered list by Tuesday or so (busy due to an Ottawa CYCC Qualifier).

It seems that there was a certain number of players who did not get the chance to notice my previous posts, that I would not be at the RA club last Thursday evening. Therefore, I am extending the $30 triple-early March discount to tonight! I am planning to be at the RA club tonight, between approximately 7pm to 730pm. Cheques are still welcome, and this is indeed the last chance for the $30 triple-early March discount! ;)
