  • Team-Quebec : Week 4

Last Saturday, the 22 youngsters received lessons from FM Lefong Hua and GM Bator Sambuev. The lessons focused on the analysis of their recent games, principally from the Championnat Ouvert de la Mauricie.

The three groups also had an hour to complete some exercices. Here are some of them :

Group 3 (1200-1400) : Black to play and win

Group 2 (1400-1650) : Black to play and win

Group 1 (1700-2200) : White played 1. Kh4. Explain why this move is a mistake.

We would like to congratulate Oscar Sprumont who, after nearly 30 minutes, managed to solve this last problem from a Morphy's game. This shows us how sometimes, the brain of an amateur player can be even faster than a computer :)

    The points for this week:

    Group 1 :
    Theory : Tristan Côté-Lalumière
Practice : Tristan Côté-Lalumière and Oscar Sprumont

    Group 2 :
    Theory : LingYun Shi
Practice : Sheng-Ming Gu and Nicholas Johnson

    Group 3 :
    Theory : Muhan Luo
Practice : Zachary Saine and Maïli-Jade Ouellet.
