Fred McKim keeps track of all the events going on in the Maritimes, and sends out mass emails to keep everyone informed.

      Hi Jason,

Fred has been a major contributor to chess in Canada for decades...we are very lucky to have him on the team...thank you for pointing this out!

I wait to see which tournament Jean Hebert is complaining about now. Oh, wait you mean how do I find out in advance?

International players frequently find our tournaments from the FIDE calendar.

Bit of a sampling bias, though, to poll members of chess talk on whether or not they get chess info from chess talk.

The EOCA (Eastern Ontario Chess Association) league website has EOCA Grand Prix events info. Also, Aris Marghetis emails event announcements for his events to those in his email loop, besides showing up at the Ottawa RA club (and posting on chesstalk, the CFC Discussion board, and the semi-dormant Ottawa Chess Club message board).

As soon as I spend two days without posting someone has to make it known that he misses it... ;)
