An endgame masterpiece from Maroczy. Maroczy,Geza grinds out a NN-NN ending from Vienna 1899.

Lila Futo Open:There was a 3-way tie for first with FM Mihok,L; Yip, Michael and Miklós with 5/6. Mihok was 1st on tiebreak; Yip took 2nd
Kobanya Open:Koczo,K won with a perfect score while the best I could do was =3rd after having an accident against Furedi,Erik.
First Saturday
June was a below average participation month with 38 players compared to the 10-year average of 48 players.
GM-Franco Alonso Alejandro won with 7.5/10 in a small 6-player double RR.
IMA-IM Galyas, Miklos(HUN) won with 8/10 in a small 6-player double RR.
IMB-IM Lengyel, Bela(HUN) and IM Krumpacnik Domen(SLO) won with 6/10.
FMA-Farkas Richard(HUN) and Ciuro Munoz Ricardo(ESP) won with 6.5/10.
International News
The Hungarian men's team did excellently to win the Mitropa Cup while Papp,G shared first in the Limedea Cup.

Theory
Grunfeld TWIC 913-916:
White had some good results with a wide variety of lines, from the 3.f3 Anti-Grunfeld to main lines. The most notable games featured strong endgame play. Lenderman-Robson ch-USA was the closest white got to applying pressure on the Grunfeld using the Russian System against 7...a6.

- Mitropa Cup 2012 Team Ch-Hungary won the men's event
- Limpedea Cup 2012-Papp,Ga and Nevednichy,V tied for first with 7/11. Szabo got 5/11 and Fodor got 4/11.
- Liechtenstein 2012-Hera shared 2nd with 6.5/7 while Farago,I shared 3rd with 6/9. Izsak and Peredy both got 5.5/9.

- Toronto Closed 2012-IM Artiom Samsonkin won with 6/9 to become the 2012 Toronto Chess Champion.
- 21st Chicago Open-Eric Hansen was part of a large group with 4.5/9.
- Calgary International-Kovalyov, Anton and Gurevich, Dmitry tied for first with 6.5/9. Top Canadian was Porper with 6/9.
