The 15 minute Rapid is played from 2pm every Saturday
at the Legends Sports Lounge, 774 Danforth (2 blocks east of the Pape subway station).
Entry fee is $30 - cash prizes for winners in rating
groupings as well as the top two or three over all.

Usually our Saturday gathering slows down in the summer. But it doesn't seem to be the case so far this year - we gained two new players last Saturday. So please come and show your support for this event which will soon celebrate its
50th year! Yes, we started in 1963 at the YMCA chess club at 40 College Street although the Rapid was then Wednesdays and the Saturday was 5 minute blitz.
In 1963 we did not have to compete with internet chess and the old 'Y' club went from four members to 400 paid members in two years! We also went from twice weekly to seven days/week. Those were the days for chess!:)
