Re: Death Match GM So vs GM Robson 7-2 at the moment

The match ended with the total scores of 23-9 in favor of GM Wesley So.
The match was in three segments - 5 ,3 and 1 (bullet Chess) with no increments (this is why it called sudden death).

The 2 GMs played the games live on the internet, each segemtn fora specified time frame. After teh game is finished, a new game immediately starts. So there is no fixed number of games for each segment.

The 5 minute segment ended with a win for GM wesley So 7-2.
3 minute segemtn: 8-2 GM Wesly win
    1 minute: 8 - 5 win for Wesley.

As the games were played, two commentators shared their minds. They said that this is the worst blowout they have ever held in the history of their Death Mathces.

After the game ended around 9-10 pm last night, the moderators interviewed GM Ray Robson, starting with the correct pronounciation of the family name.

Next interviewed was the winner GM So. He was huble in victory. The host noted that Wesley is always thankful. This is how Filipinos are brought up by their parents - to be respectful, humble and kind.

I recorded a video covering part of the interview to be posted (hopefully) in Youtube.

Wesley's stay in Toronto has been fruitful. He finished equal 3rd in the 2012 World Open in Philadelphia; 1st - in the 2012 Toronto International; 1st in the 2012 Quebec Opec, before his turnament - the Olympiad in Turkey.

His recent victory in Montreal was celebrated immediately last Saturday July 28 with an early dinner party near the College Brebeau with local Filipino chess players (Peter Tan, Mel, Diosdado) . Wesley was interviewed over the food; pictures were taken. It was a happy scene. There were discusiion also on a future city match between Montreal and Toronto between Filipino Canadians.

There were increments, the time controls were 5/1, 3/1, and 1/1
