  • this Thursday in Toronto-to-Kitchener (chess, even poker)

I am making my way to Kitchener this weekend for the great Chessfest! On the way, I kinda have Thursday evening with nothing to do yet, probably in the Toronto area, but I could head west a day earlier than my Kitchener hotel reservation, which starts Friday.

So, could anyone recommend some rated chess (or tournament poker) for this Thursday?

    Thanks and regards, arismarghetis@rogers.com

Casino Niagara? (no mention of poker at Casino Rama (Orillia)).

The closest casino would be Brantford. They have a poker event on Thursday:

      Aug 02, 2012 — $150 Bounty
      Brantford | Poker Room: 519 757-3306
      Buy-in: $130 | Admin. Fee: $20 | Est. Prize Pool: $10,400 | Blinds | Rules and Regulations

The Brantford bounty event is OK, but the structure isn't amazing and the floor is laughably incompetent at times so I made a point of not playing there anymore. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the feedback! I am looking for a more regular event, rather than bounty, etc.

If someone would go to one only if they had a ride, I could pick you up. Ideally, please post here or email me by dinner time tonight, as that is when I start my road trip! :)

Ah, the aris'tocracy, never a dull moment....now, mutiny on the bounty!
Sometimes I think it's creative margheti'ing for an IA's progress:-)

(Just edging the dude....he thinks I'm picking on, oops ariss'ing him!)
