A very modest gentleman from Great Britain appeared for the tournament ("My rating is about 2500" he said). Well checking the FIDE site, it turns out he's a very modest grandmaster who played some warm-up games with Peter McSherry and also played him a game or two after the tournament. He scored 4 wins and one loss(to Artiom) in the tournament .

at the Legends Sports Lounge, 774 Danforth (2 blocks east of the Pape subway station).
Entry fee is $30 - cash prizes for winners in rating
groupings as well as the top two or three over all.

As our regular players are either at the Olympiad or at the Hart House Labour Day Open, there will be no rapid this Saturday, September 1st. Come back to do battle on September 8th.
