  • Endgame trickery in Kamsky vs Svidler, rd. 8

There was some serious endgame trickery in the round 8 game from Dresden between GMs Kamsky (USA) and Svidler (Russia) on board one. I think Kamsky is going to win now; he has R+2 vs R, with connected pawns. But a few moves before that, Svidler had both his rook and bishop en prise while he tried to promote his a-pawn. I thought Kamsky was done, but he found an astonishing sequence, perhaps the only way out, to resolve the situation!! Check it out on the live games site!:):)
