  • Free Simul in Prescott, ON

I'm giving a free simul in Prescott, ON (about 80km south of Ottawa) on Saturday, September 29th. It's free to play and starts in the downtown square (as part of the Market Appreciation Day) at 11am. Address is 201 King St. West. Prescott has some cool stuff for a small town. For example, there's a fort that was used in the War of 1812 built into the side of a hill. Nice view of the St. Lawrence Seaway, too. Bring set and board if you have one. If not, we have some.

Simul is going on, rain or shine. It looks like it will be a pretty sunny day here, and the simul itself is held under a business awning so no one gets wet in case it rains. ;-)

What about the results, Tom? Are you winning all of them?

The final score was (I think) something like 16-0-0. With a total of 10 people playing, some more than once. Furthest people came: near Montreal (by bike but not specifically for the chess ;-) ) and Kemptville (about 40 kms north of here).
