Thanks for asking those questions, Alex! UofC players are wondering the same thing :)

UofC is hoping to send their first chess team to the CUCC. Hopefully, we will be there! We are at the process of selecting players through qualifying tournament (http://calgarychess.com/WORDPRESS/?page_id=1083).

    Hi Keith, Shao Hang,

Are the entry fee details set?
How much will early (by Dec 1st) entry fee be?
Where can we send cheques to?
Do you have an agreement with, or can you recommend a hotel?
UT guys & gals are very much looking forward to next year's CUCC :)

There is no limit. And we will follow the tradition of most rules in the past CUCC.

I don't believe so, but I'll have to check. I know that McGill sent three teams to Western last year.

Unfortunately, alumni are ineligible as the tournament is only open to current students as well as professors or others who work at post-secondary institutions.

It will be a 5 round team event with a Championship and a Reserve section. Each team will be comprised of 4 players.

The Championship section is reserved to teams whose average rating is greater than 1800, (subject to slight change), at the time of registration.

Exact entry fees will be determined within two weeks. There will be a discount to teams that pre-register by December 1st. As an incentive to attract teams from all across the country, any team from outside of Quebec or Ontario will receive free entry.

More information about the tournament will be released in the coming weeks including information regarding accommodation. We are in the process of contacting downtown hotels near McGill to negotiate rates for chess teams.

Hope to see you at the event!
