[QUOTE=Gary Ruben;86221]Which 4 moves does he want? Some positions, regardless of how many available lines or moves can still be made, are lost. In the same manner tic-tac-toe is a draw unless there's an error.

Here's some stuff on the Mora. I assume he wants the gambit accepted but wonder at full 4 moves.

    Indeed, Gary, the Morra Accepted line of 1.e4 c5 2.d4 cxd4 3.c3 dxc3 4.Nxc3

Here's a lovely 26-move Esserman miniature against elite GM Loek van Wely at the 2011 U.S. Open which was a chessgames.com 'game of the day' entitled "Marc of Excellence".

One player on our team did well with the Mora.

I think when you go over 25 moves it's no longer a miniature. With gambits often it isn't a matter of soundness. It's how well the gambiteer plays the opening and how poorly or ill prepared the opponent.

Sometimes you see what amounts to coffee house chess where an opponent gets caught. I've played coffee house over the years. Chess hustling, really. Knowing when to lose is as important as coming out the winner.

Tim Harding has written much on gambit openings and lines over the years. His CD, Total Marshall for the Ruy Lopez Marshall gambit is excellent.
