5 players with 8.5/11 (INCLUDING ERIC HANSEN) should mean playoffs between the 5 players in order to eliminate one of them. Eric's blitz skills, of which he has plenty, are needed now.

      Vamanos Eric.

        Re: Continental 2012

Eric won his final-round game, for 2.5/3 to finish when he absolutely needed it, so that is very impressive!!!! :)

He is in a 5-way tie for first, so it looks like a round-robin at G/15 + increment to settle the top four places and World Cup qualification. :)

got very lucky and won the final around from an awful position. rapid playoffs are at 6 p.m buenos aires time if you want to tune in I imagine they will be broadcasted live. 5 way tie for 4 playoff spots. the bottom finisher in the rapid round robin will not qualify.

Great result Eric. By the way, this is an awful system. Last time this happened some GMs ganged up on some 2200 kid to knock him out. Hopefully this won't happen this time, unless Eric is the one ganging up on others that is:-)

I figure Flores will likely be eliminated.

I didn't notice many draws on those top boards in the last round. So simple is eliminating draws when something big is on the line.
