Request For Proposals - Space available for vendors at the CYCC
The 15th Annual Canadian Youth Chess Championships, the Summer Chess Fest and the BC Open will be held in Victoria, BC from July 20th-26th. The events will be held in the Hotel Grand Pacific and downtown Victoria. Space is available for vendors and businesses. 1000 to 1500 people are expected in Victoria for the events. Over $30,000 of TV, radio and newspaper coverage are confirmed. The expected economic benefit to the local economy is $500,000. Businesses that are interested in being part of this exciting event should submit a proposal that contains the following information.
Name of company
Person who will be on site and brief resume
Type of business
Number and which days are of interest (minimum expectation is July 22 23 24 for at least 4 hours/day)
Size of Area required (Number of tables)
Preferred set up location
Whether exclusivity is required
The financial contribution that will be made to Victoria Junior Chess Society (CYCC Organizer)
References from organizer of previous similar event if available
Areas available are sections of the N Pender Ballroom and sections of the lobby space (limited). There are also 2nd floor meeting rooms or sections of those rooms available.

The proposals will be rated on the following criteria. Successful applicants will be contacted in January.
Compatibility of the business with a Youth Chess Championships
Stability and reputation of business
Financial and/or in kind contribution to the Victoria Junior Chess Society
Business plan in relation to the CYCC
Experience of on site business representative
The organizing committee reserves the right to negotiate the terms and conditions of commercial space with proponents.

Proposals should be less than 2 pages long in word or pdf format.
