Today was the last day for Team-Quebec. The participants corrected the exam they had passed last week.
Congratulations to the three best grades in each group:
Group 1

Group 2
1) Zachary Saine
2) Nicholas Johnson

Group 3
1)Hou Han Zhang and Muhan Luo

Here are two interesting endgames that the participants from the first group (the strongest) had to solve. Black to play : what is the expected result in both positions?
Finally, we talked with the participants and the parents, in order to have feedback on the team. Team-Quebec will come back in 2013, and some changes will be made thanks to their precious comments. It was frequent to hear about the nice surprise they had while having lessons with GM Kovalyov, who revealed to be a very good teacher. Also, many kids also mentionned that they would like to receive lessons on chess history, which is very surprising and interesting!
Other suggestions include the participation at a tournament, like the 2013 CYCC in Ottawa, in order to strengthen the links between the players. If Chess & Math decides to support again the team next year, as their support is crucial to the team, the 2013 Team-Quebec might have quite a lot of new features!
We would also like to thank all the people that helped in the creation of the team (very often as volunteers):
