A rather low turnout! But now I see why. There is the North American Open in Las Vegas with norm possibilities and a $120,000 prize fund.

*We will play next Saturday the 29th as usual but then will skip the following week due to the Hart House tournament.

The 15 minute Rapid is played from 2pm every Saturday
at The Pump Sports Lounge, 410 Bloor Street west (Between the Bathurst and Spadina subway stns).
Entry fee is $30 - cash prizes for winners in rating
groupings as well as the top two or three over all.

There are only two Toronto players (Bindi Cheng and Ralph Gregorz) who are on the NAO advance entry list (but neither are on your rating list). Give your tournament sometime to grow - it sounds like the new location is much more central. Perhaps lower the entry fees - $30 seems a lot for a tournament in a cafe/bar environment.

However - cheap hotel rooms in Vegas ($47 at Bally's - but don't stay the night of the 30th - it's $249 then).

A reminder for those who have received free paid entry to the Saturday Rapid -tomorrow (Sat 29) is the last chance to redeem your free play after which they will no longer be valid. There are about ten free plays outstanding! See y'all tomorrow. :)
