    Re: Spam ads on ChessTalk

There could be more order: keeping talks within topics.

Though, the forum itself is quite small or weak. Not much threads are created through the day. Not much writers. Thus, offtopic threads are not a problem - nobody forces to read them.

Spammers - it is not a moderator's work. It is an administrator's laziness to setup the system.

And there was really a good deal on a book about Kasparov: "Kasparov's Fighting Chess 1993-1998 has increased from CDN$ 5.66 to CDN$ 18.69" LOL

Mostly, it irritates me when the front page is full of stupid spam. I get a lot of enjoyment from the board and would like to give back by helping it a bit.

I doubt very much anyone would consider my moderation style heavy handed and would only be noticed in the most egregious of circumstances. I would guess 99% of what I would do as a moderator would be: delete spam.

I have no issue with off topic threads, not sure why that seems to be under discussion.

Maybe I should start a poll - the people should elect their leader!

Hopefully moderation will continue with only the real spam being deleted. Like you say, this forum is the tamer side of the internet.
