    Re: Kitchener-Waterloo Riedstra Memorial Open

Yeah, how come this hasn't been rated yet? We are all waiting to see Alex Ferreira become the master that he deserves but not the one that the world needs right now.
    Shameless self-promotion on display here

These and a number of other games from the earlier rounds or top boards will have been sent (directly) to Bob Armstrong for his 'Toronto chess news'. In the coming week or so as it is being released, some of those games may also be duplicated in a pgn here or in various chess databases as well. However, due to these recent weekends being Easter, another weekend being tax weekend or a couple of SWOCL events, this and some other personal astronomy meets and a cold have taken up a bit of my time.

Therefore, the tournament report might turn out to be part of a 2 or 3 part series, and it would also help to cover some news as the SWOCL season starts to slow down after April. Speaking of which, which persons are in the leaderboard standings this year for the Grand Prix pistes of 2012-3? Attendance at Hamilton also looked strong last weekend, and it'll be great to hear about those other event reports in his newsletter.

Due to a 3rd round bye that I took to combat the sleep deprivation of the Kitchener event, Ralph still has a number of the game scores from that round (which I might pick up in a future Kitchener chess club night). With any luck, Ralph might be able to assist by getting a few of those uploaded here before I would have a chance to see them.

http://www.torontochessnews.com/ - those other chess databases are welcome to pick them up from chesstalk or TCN or from the players themselves. My bandwidth plan at home doesn't support my being able to (quickly) email off a lot of games to those other sources at once. Thank you kindly for your patience.
