  • Why would a grandmaster candidate play against the Muzio?

In this day and age with advanced computer generated opening preparation why would a GM candidate play against the Muzio in a tournament game???
Well it happened in Rejkjavik. (and no it wasnt Aman:) A Norwegian IM got his **** gekicknet and deservedly so against a 1900 player!! A graphic lesson. In the analytical side bar a game of Canada's own legendary Jack Yoos is presented where he does it in style! http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=8871 During the slaughter the White player missed a couple of mates but the material advantage was about a queen plus. It seems over and over again over the years there is some fool willing to take on the Black position. It almost makes me want to play the King's Gambit again!

Re: Why would a grandmaster candidate play against the Muzio?

    A) He's retarded

    B) He wanted to show other GM's how it's done

    C) He wanted to finish the game in under an hour

    D) He wanted to feel young again

    E) He's retarded
    Shameless self-promotion on display here

Can you say "Swiss Gambit"? :D
No matter how big and bad you are, when a two-year-old hands you a toy phone, you answer it.
