  • Aurora CC (ON) - 2nd CFC-rated event

    On April 8th the Aurora Chess Club will start the second CFC-rated tournament.

    6-rounds in six weeks

    Time Control: 1h 30 minutes per player
    Entry Fee: No charge to Aurora Chess Club Members. $10 for non-members.
    Games start: 6:45pm.

    Last Monday IM Bindi Cheng came to us for a simul. 22 player were brave enough to battle him. Though all of them fell to sharp IM tactics or simple own blunders LOL Nevertheless Bindi had a hard time with some games.



    The local support was strong enough that the final game become an encounter one-on-one with a clock of 20-min

    The AuCC will have a March Break to on March 11 (in other words it will be closed), and the club will open on Mach 18 with the Rapid tournament.


    The Optimist Club with the help of Chess-Math held another tournament for kids in February. About 170 players came from three towns. Details at http://www.yorkregion.com/community-...osses-borders/
