3 Games from TWIC 956 covering the French Defence

      Game1
GM Moskalenko draws attention to the 6...Qc7 Winawer in The Flexible French(New in Chess 2009). This was a well-received landmark work full of ideas.

The routine 7.Nf3 reply proved to be nothing special GM Rodshtein obtained a balanced position and outplayed white in the feature game.

      Georgiadis,N (2380) - Rodshtein,M (2616)
      French Winawer 6...Qc7 7.Nf3 [C18]
29th Open Cappelle la Grande FRA (1.9), 23.02.2013

      Game 2
In the feature game, GM Short took big risks in the opening but eventually the game was decided in an even ending. The game was played at the Bunratty Masters(IRL) where Short came second with 5/6, behind GM Adams who won with 5.5/6.

      O'Connor,Jon (2124) - Short,N (2697)
      French Winawer 6..Qc7 7.Qg4[C18]
      20th Bunratty Masters, IRL (1.2), 01.03.2013

Small report on Bunratty Masters included

      Game 3
The Ngf3 method(instead of the committal f4 advance is a popular way of dealing with the French Tarrasch 3...Nd2 Nf6. GM Ulibin made steady headway on the queenside aided by the bishop pair. The passed c-pawn eventually decided the game after some creative play.

      Valuet,B (2290) - Ulibin,M (2521)
      French Tarrasch 3...Nd2 Nf6 4.e5 Nfd7 5.Ngf3 [C05]
29th Open Cappelle la Grande FRA (3.53), 25.02.2013
