      Hi Bob:

The pairings were posted at the site before we left last night. Since I know you had such a long drive, you weren't able to stay and see them.

The Niagara Falls Open has 36 players vying for bragging rights this year. Roman Sapozhnikov, Konstantin Serbianiuk and Wenlu Yu are tied for 1st with three points. Walter De Jong is next at 2.5. Roman and Konstantin are the 2 top rated players and are going to be battling it out in Round 4. There are still lots of roast beef sandwiches available for players to enjoy starting around noon today. There are lots of extra prizes available including the puzzle solving ones.

A few photos from the event.

First, tournament winner Roman Sapozhnikov, in his fourth round game with
          Konstatin Semianiuk (they drew)

And the rest of the boards in round 4, in no particular order. Gotta love the wall murals in the Shrine Club!

To my amazement, I found myself playing Roman on board 1 in round 5. To nobody's amazement, Roman crushed me :). In the nicest possible way, of course.

Thanks to John E. and John B. for putting on this event once again.
