GM Sambuev used the Zukertort(again) to steamroller another opponent in a relentless attacking display. Black gets a horrible position right out of the opening but Sambuev still had to win the game twice. Here is the feature game.

Here is an example of GM persistence in the endgame from GM Berczes played in the TCh-SWE recently. The following balanced queenless position was reached after 21..Rfd8(diagram) and the GM just kept pressing. Here is the feature game.

GM Zherebukh,Y was happy to accept a level queenless game with play for both sides as a way to play for the win with 8...c6. Here is the feature game.

      The Queenside Space Grab Plan
This plan is easy to understand. White pushes the b-pawn to lengthen the range of Bg2 and arranges his pieces to support the queenside advance. Swedish GM Ulf Andersson squeezed the queenside in an endgame for a model win againsGM Gulko in the Biel Interzonal 1976. Here is the feature game.

      Andersson,Ulf (2585) - Gulko,Boris F (2530)
      English 1...e5[A26]

A tense position arose from the 4.Bd2 Qe7 Bogo-Indian. Black has just challenged the d5 pawn with 17..c6(diagram).
GM Eljanov increased the pressure on the c-pawn with 18.Nd3 and won a sharp game in a recent game from the TCh-ISL 2012–13. Here is the feature game.

        Eljanov,P (2697) - Jones,G (2653)
        Bogo-Indian 4…Qe7[E11]
