This blindfold simul was yesterday at the St.Louis Chess Center... anyone able to find out how GM Gareev fared? This was a warm-up for the U.S. Championships that are about to start.

Plenty of pictures as well on the twitter site (facebook). Koltanowski did similar in his world record 34 in 1937. I think a few more draws and about the same time total. I thought GM Gareev was just playing schoolkids but in the pictures it shows several adult tournament players so I think Kolty's simul was much weaker opposition. Very impressive result with no losses - so I assume no major blunders. I hope there are gamescores preserved.

From Susan Polgar's blog today:Originally posted by Lee Hendon View PostIt would be interesting to know what was the rating of his opponents none the less very impressive!!
"The field, composed entirely of Saint Louis Chess Club members, had an average USCF rating of 1363, and featured of two experts, three class A players (1800-1999) and five class B players (1600-1799)."

Probably a little weaker than the groups of players that Leo Williams played blindfolded in the 1970's.
