    Canadian Open Rd5 Report:Part 2: Games 6-10
    Game 6-Panjwani-Rozentalis
    GM Rozentalis held the draw with professional efficiency.

    Game 7-Perelshteyn,E-Kiewra
    GM Perelshteyn misplayed a pawn sacrifice and eventually had to save a R-RB ending.

    Game 8-Djerkovic-Samsonkin
    Samsonkin massaged patiently and eventually won the weak h-pawn in a RRb-RRB ending with opposite color bishops.

    Game 9-Sohal-Chirila
    Sohal had a good position but let it slip away in the maneuvering phase.

    Game 10-Villavieja-Cheng
    IM Cheng massaged the position until white dropped the e-pawn.

    Canadian Open Rd5 Report:Part 3: Games 11-15
    Game 11-Vera-Fu
    GM Vera saved a lost position after being a clear exchange down.

    Game 12-Ivanov,M-Porper
    Ivanov tried Hector's pet line but the ending was unfavorable.

    Game 13-Cao,J-Perez Rodriguez
    An uneventful draw.

    Game 14-Perez Garcia,R-Marinkovic,M
    An uneventful draw.

    Game 15-Pacey,K-Calugar,A
    Calugar came back from a bad position to win in a R-R ending.

                    This was the big upset of rd1. GM Sambuev played his usual enterprising brand of aggressive chess but was not rewarded.

                              I was going to do Hansen games from the Canadian Open but I found this nice game instead. Sorry Hans.

                              IM Richard Wang is also having a good tournament as the Quebec Open is proving to be a great way to showcase up and coming Canadian talent. Here is his upset win over GM Vera

                                IM Gerzhoy(CAN) is in a 5-way tie for first with 3.5/4 after he beat IM Hambleton(CAN) in a key matchup.
