  • Kenneth Regan is in Montreal

He stopped by my office today. He is doing research at the University of Montreal and will be living in Montreal until the end of June 2009.

The great news is he intends on taking part in the upcoming Mauricie Open.

Ken was well known by chessplayers in North America in the late 70's.

He is doing some interesting work...he siad he will post something on this site...so I won't scoop him :)

For those who have never heard of him, you can do a google search or go to this site:

Re: Kenneth Regan is in Montreal

Thanks for the introduction! I've written some more details here (http://www.chesstalk.info/forum/show...=6075#post6075), mainly to say that chess is actually keeping me from playing in this weekend's RA Winter Open, and I'm giving a colloquium talk on my anti-chess-cheating research at UdeM in 2 weeks, free public access, announcement here:

      Kenneth -

Come to the Cafe Pi for some chess (or poker or backgammon).

You can type French accents without a French keyboard - simply by holdng the "Alt" key and 3 characters on the numeric keypad.

      e.g.

      è is alt-138
      é is alt-130
      à is alt-133
      etc.
