Games are live from the start (round 4), except Board 3, where both players declined to use MonRoi ! :)
Slight transmission glitch with Board 2 (currently showing as drawn online), but game actually
in progress (Preotu vs Colas). Have fun !

Rd. 2 Bd. 1 Preotu Game?

                  Hi Francis:

Any chance of posting the Bd. 1 Rd. 2 game - Preotu 1 - 0 Kriaouchkine? (was pretty wild).

                  Thanks.

Re: North American Youth Chess Championships

Eventually - I am supposed to inherit all the (white copies, hopefully!) scoresheets, and eventually, all games will be made available. (I am at the 400-game mark for the CYCC - including two games in which both scoresheets showed (the same) illegal moves - in both games it was a Knight moving like a Bishop).

Re: North American Youth Chess Championships

                        In the U-18 section,

I am having a hard time understanding the pairing logic for round 5. There are 3 players in the 3.5 score group, there are 3 players in the 3.0 score group.

So none of the 3.0 players should have to play a 2.5 player. But that is precisely what is happening. Why isn't Awonder Liang (3.0) playing Jason Cao (3.0)?

                          Francis

Will be much easier and quicker to export the standing and pairings from SwissSys in HTML and post them on the site. Gary can update the "fancy" standings and pairings later. Lots of players don't stay at the hotel to check the printed pairings in the parents' room. Last night we find out the parings around midnight. Now, after an hour the 5th round started, no parings or standings yet.

                          Thank you

Here is color history of 3.5 and 3.0 score groups:
                                Colas WBWB
                                Pamatmat BWBW

                                so why aren't the pairings:

                                Colas (3.5) xxx Pamatmat (3.5)
                                Williams (3.5) xxx Qin (3.0)
                                Liang (3.0) xxx Cao (3.0)

                                ?
                                Greg,

They use SwissSys so I hope this will answer your question.
