      Notes:

      1. The “Weekly Overview” of the topic is posted for the benefit of new members who may have come in between the “Weekly Overviews”. It provides an executive summary of the issue for new viewers.

2.The Stats of participation are important to allow all to determine the extent of continuing interest. For thread originators/responders, they are important to see if the interest no longer warrants the labour. Or alternatively, they show that those of us discussing it are drawing in more participants, because they have begun to see the importance of our topic

      2. Analysis of Last Week's Stats

Last week's stats are a bit behind those of 2024 so far.

More discussion/increased participation does happen when a current controversial issue is brought into the thread. The thread does involve discussion of current political affairs from the different perspectives of the various participants, so “current” issues do arise.

Fundamentally, though, this thread is an “educational” thread about something that may not be that attractive to some CT'ers. Nonetheless, the stats for this thread (Per day: Views – 27; Responses - 2) are good, and not that far below many other active threads in the Non-chess forum.

The stats do show that CT'ers are interested in learning more about DM, and about government from the DM perspective. This thread is an opportunity to learn something about the political system known as “Democratic Marxism”! It is also an opportunity to question DM in a good and safe forum, where we try to respect the right of all CT'ers to have their own analysis, and to be entitled to put it forward for consideration, even if differing from DM.

Note: I, as originator/main poster, am now just posting 1 DM discussion paper per week, near the start of the week. But I do try to respond to response questions, and introduce new “current” topics when they seem appropriate. So, overall, it is expected that the stats will slowly come down, compared to the beginning phase of this thread.

      B. Goal of this Thread
      • To make clear what Democratic Marxism is, and what it is not (Old-style USSR Communism)
      • To provide materials that help CT'ers analyze the pluses and minuses of DM.

      Additional Notes:

      1. The goal of this thread is not to try to beat opposing views into oblivion. Political economy spans the spectrum. Every position is entitled to post as it sees fit, regardless of the kind of, and amount of, postings by other positions. What is wanted is serious consideration of all posts........then you decide among the many competing political philosophies.

      2. CT'ers are welcome to post responses here regularly, in addition to our core group of very active responders.

How to Assess the Societal Majority (Mostly Working Persons)

Yes the working person is run ragged and tired out by being in the capitalist system.

        BUT.....

They are responsible adults, and they simply must rise, nonetheless, to the challenge of critically analyzing their situation, and seeking solutions. Some in the majority do this - the heavy-lifting, though tired, to assemble an accurate analysis of their life situation.

        BUT....

Many working persons (Most?), it seems, seek an easier route. Why do they reject doing this heavy lifting??

Are they just too lazy to take up the task?...........they would rather just relax and be entertained.

Is it “avoidance” of something difficult?

Are many so drained that they have neither the energy, nor the mind-set, to be able to take up the necessary task - to spend time and effort researching "WHY" society, and their position in it, are so abysmal?

The answer to this may be unclear......

        BUT......

What IS clear is.......failure to rise to the occasion makes inevitable a steady decline in their life situation, and society's at large.

                • Careful what you wish for, Mr. Armstrong!

The World Bank has issued a notice to western nations that they must completely abolish farming in order to achieve ‘net zero emissions’ by the year 2030. The plan involves closing down the world’s farms and placing them all under the control of a handful of WEF Young Global Leaders, such as Bill Gates, who will then ‘radically alter the way food is grown.’ According to the memo, the elimination of the traditional farming industry and the drastic reduction in food will help save the planet from ‘global boiling.’ “While the food on your table may taste good, it is also a hefty slice of the climate change emissions pie,” claims World Bank’s Axel van Trostenburg. nstead of promoting diverse agricultural practices that local family farmers have been honing for centuries – such practices are good for the environment rather than bad – the World Bank wants to throw the baby out with the bathwater by getting rid of agriculture entirely in some areas. We are seeing that push in the Netherlands and other parts of Western Europe. And now the World Bank is proposing even more agriculture reductions because it claims the climate is warming from all the food people are growing. “Action should happen across all countries to get to net zero, through a comprehensive approach to reducing emissions in food systems, including in fertilizers and energy, crop and livestock production, and packaging and distribution across the value chain from farm to table,” the World Bank says. As usual, the globalists are proposing a one-size-fits-all solution to standardize farming practices even though local ecosystems vary widely from place to place. It does not matter to them, though, because the investment returns from their proposal are massive. “Annual investments will need to increase to $260 billion a year to cut in half agrifood emissions by 2030 and to reach net zero emissions by 2050,” the World Bank says.

And I have a number of full-time farmer friends here in Ontario.

I need to book up on the emissions factor re farming.

                      DMGI Discussion Paper # 18

                      The Project

This Project seeks to initiate across the planet a conversation about a radical realignment in the world of both human relationships and human self-government.

Local Political Units (LPU's = Villages)

If the Earth was all local political units (A collection of villages), then we could have direct democracy via the new technologies (eliminate politicians by eliminating representative democracy).

Nations would dissolve themselves as countries and devolve all powers to the Villages. Sometimes the powers would be devolved to coalition committees of numbers of villages.

                      The Role of Governments

Governments would become the secretariats for carrying out the will of the people, as expressed in the Villages or groups of Villages.

                      Future Prospects

It is not a pipe dream.......it just needs people to come forward and demand it.

                      Multiplicity of Infrastructure

                      Question:

If you have hundreds of thousands of self-governing villages, how would you ever deal efficiently with all of the disparities of geography and economic potential?

                      Response

                      a. Geographic Differences

There is no doubt that geography showers certain benefits on the residents. For example, if you are a village on the Mediterranean Sea, there are economic advantages to having a Port. Are there any advantages to being a village in the middle of the Sahara Desert? Dry Air may be one from the health point of view of some people.

The goal of the "Sustainable Earth Project" is that through "cooperation", and "altruism", villages will work hard not to "win", but to help other villages to be 'Sustainable", even if that may mean some inequality of trade. This new paradigm works only if ALL villages are "sustainable". The goal is that each village is unique and has something to offer, that will keep the residents happy to be a resident in their village. We cannot afford to have villages that just don't work.

                      b. Economic Potential Differences

Again disparity causes problems........yes it is wonderful that some villages will have much greater economic potential than others. And we want to exploit this to the maximum (Within the rules of
sustainability). But it is not "us for ourselves" in the Sustainable Earth Project.....it is WE (All Villages) must achieve some decent local civic quality of life....so there is going to have to be "bartering", and it may have to be "Subsidy Bartering".........one village can trade something the other needs, for what it needs, despite the disparity of value of what is being "traded".
This may require that some villages are helped in some way by others (Sort of like Canadian Federal-Provincial transfer payments).

This is truly a sticky wicket.

One can think in terms of "regions of circles". So any village has a "circle of villages" around its borders. The most natural dynamic economically is for the village, and those in its first concentric
circle, to enter into bi-lateral, and multi-lateral arrangements, so that all villages get what they need, and can accomplish tasks important to all their residents, efficiently.

Physical/Legal Infrastructure (Needed to support inter-village dealings)

One could consider regional transportation as an "infrastructure" problem for a village to solve. This seems most amenable to cooperation - a village coalition to set up a regional transport authority for all of them in the first circle.

This is not so simple though..........we have circles overlaying circles in this paradigm.......But villages will be able to negotiate a workable, and desirable, solution to mass transit, where there is going to be decent service for all the residents of all villages in the "Coalition".

                      Villages with Scarce Resources

                      Question:

What will be done re poverty-stricken villages that have no prospects for improving themselves because all of their scarce resources are used up by their subsistence-level existence?"

                      Response

A partial, but substantial, solution to this is "Transfer Payments" to the "less sustainable on their own" villages. It may also be that some unsustainable villages will simply have to join with one or more bordering villages to achieve at least some basic level of sustainability, which then can be subsidized.

We invite anyone reading this, and interested in giving input, to e-mail DMGI (See below):

I need to book up on the emissions factor re farming.

Really? So, do you really think this is an altruistic program? So you think governments in their infinite wisdom
slavishly obeying the criminal UN ESG goals, declare that farmer emissions are too high should abolish farming in an effort
to save the earth and starve most of humanity to death? Are you nuts?

Reading about this, I had to pause eating my morning breakfast of Kellogg's Cricket Krispies ....

(no more snap, crackle, pop, it makes cricket sounds after you pour on the soy milk....)

As a general comment: evolution is about doing whatever will save the species, NOT about saving individuals.

Sid likes to put down the idea of eating bugs .... I wonder if he eats cow meat ... or snails (escargot) .... or sushi ... or caviar ....

I'll bet cavemen ate bugs and that's why we are here now.

1.Forces are at work now (The initial suspects are the Oligarchs of the world) to depopulate the planet, with the goal of establishing a World Autocracy.

                            2. These forces unleashed the SarsCov2 virus, causing a COVID-19 pandemic, as part of this depopulation grand plan.

                            3. Negative climate change is a "hoax" by these forces in order to remove freedoms, by public choice or by direction, in dealing with a false climate emergency, and to gain more economic power for themselves by shutting down current areas of commerce (Such as farming, fossil fuel industry, etc.). The shutting down of farming is for the long-term goal of massive deaths from starvation.

                            4. Controlled by these forces, and being used to implement the Grand Plan, are the UN, WHO, World Bank, and the private organization, World Economic Forum. They have gained influence among numbers of world leaders.

The above is a package position of some CT'ers on this board. Those supporting it are free to revise it if it is inaccurate in some detail.

                            A. So how many of you CT'ers coming to this thread have personally adopted the full package as "true".

                            B. How many of you CT'ers coming here personally have adopted at least one of the four propositions as true?

We will give about a 5 day deadline to respond (Tues., May 28 @ 6:00 PM EDT).

Suffice to say that the corrupt alliance of oligarchs and politicians/bureaucrats has always and will always harm the common man (the 'worker' in Bob's terminology). That is why we need to take away their myriad stupid laws (along with their power to keep on creating the same) and instead bring enforcement of the Natural Law to the forefront and also ensure easy access to capital for the masses...

What are the long-term prospects for Argentine society under this Libertarian's plan? In particular, what will be the wealth/income gap created under wild-west capitalism? Haven't we already been there, and have capitalism's track record?
