A remedy to our world crisis (which can be hit on by chess, history, science & religion), based on a relatively recent Post that I made on LinkedIn (besides on my Comments there, regarding that Post):

I don't want to be 'He Who Restrains' & is 'Removed' (= EndTimes), so I'll 'Reveal' some Streetwise things that I learned while I become a chess master, to put some perspective on the (5th) recommendation below:

1. Any who have childlike faith about a given book, e.g. concerning a chess opening (which typically includes many series of moves that a reader may hope to recall & play, if an opponent allows such a series to happen), now & then may regret that they read such a book, i.e. when they find themselves in a poor situation that apparently wasn't anticipated by an author (or the reader);

2. So unsurprisingly at times settled science has been overturned down through the Ages;

3. Anecdotal evidence (except e.g. claims re: religion -bit unfairly in my estimation) is allowed in court, though it's not weighted as much as eye witness testimony would be;

4. I'm open-minded, e.g. re: reincarnation (wikis re: author/age of various religious texts don't convince me);

5. Likely safe & quick to try: pray asap to the Lord to 'put into effect the most exact version of scripture' (whatever that may be -e.g. looking at wiki re: Wycliffe Bible I have doubts about it, or thus anything newer).

II. The capture of (what I'd perhaps somewhat too loosely call) 'Venezuela's First Couple' happened in a successful raid against Venezuela's capital city, that was conducted by the USA (as ordered by POTUS Trump 2.0) only a few short days ago. That rather unsettling raid's 'result' was 'compounded', in terms of its 'sobering effect' (circa yesterday) worldwide, by what I'd call the (hard to fully conceal) resulting 'panic' that suddenly came upon various world leaders, due to Trump freshly (but now very unsubtly) alluding to his desire to have the USA annex Denmark's territory of Greenland, using brute force if necessary. For example, a significant number of those leaders began to meet (again, circa yesterday) in Paris, France (including our own PM Mark Carney), in a get together that was initially designed largely to address the matter of possibly ending a major war that's been going on in Europe (between Putin's Russia and Ukraine) that has not stopped for a considerable number of years now.

III. Other things to consider:

A. There are currently nine (9) nations on Earth thought to have (possibly besides other kinds of WMDs) nuclear weapons (and at least some of those nine [9] nations presently have leaders who may well not have recently had a proper 'mental health' evaluation, at least as far as I can tell);
B. The Middle East, alone, is currently a hotbed of conflict (potentially being of scriptural proportions, presently, as far as I can tell);
C. That's not to mention that the situation in the Far East (never mind the one that involves India, Pakistan & Afghanistan) is at least still 'simmering', as far as I can tell;
D. Add to all of the above that (at least as I'd assess things) there's a madman that's currently in charge of by far the most powerful nation on Earth (namely Trump, the USA's present POTUS), making all of the rest of the national leaders who are responsible for various lands/property located within The Americas quite possibly shake in their boots (at the least while they are awake);
E. Thus, anything at all related to (the GOP or) Trump himself (e.g. regarding his USA [2025] NSS document, which includes discussion of what I'd call the plan for exclusive domination of the entire Western Hemisphere by the USA, besides other things that are alluded to in that document that's been in the news for some time now).

Agreed with points one and two (I think there's no such thing as "settled science"). I cannot understand point three so cannot say whether I agree with it or not. I have no opinion of points four and five.

What is "our world's present crisis"? Something specific?

Just by chance, today I intended to do some editing of my first Post that's within this chesstalk Thread (which is also the first day that I've seen your Post, in reply to mine). If you'd like you can now view the latest (i.e. somewhat edited) version of my first Post in this chesstalk thread (if you have not done so already), to see if it clarifies things a little more for you.

Anyhow, I''ll try to assume you (or anyone else) may well have gained at least a little bit more insight/clarity (in regard to what you've asked, in the last sentence of your Post here, i.e. T.O.:-What is "our world's present crisis"? A brief digression (so as to try to clear things up a little more, in regard to 'where I'm coming from' or where I'm presently located): Nowadays I've been largely remaining in the east end of Ottawa, i.e. in Orleans (since my moving here in early 20222, from the west end), mainly thanks to Ottawa's currently (at least for me) inconvenient OC Transpo bus/LRT route times. The idea of my going to the RA building in Ottawa's south end has become largely unattractive to me. Among some of the more attractive options that I do have (out here, in what I half-jokingly call 'The Sticks' in the city's east end) in the way of anything remotely resembling 'entertainment' (and/or 'interesting hobbies') is that I am still able to follow world events closely, which I have for quite a long time (i.e. for decades before I began living in Orleans).

Moving back on topic, anything related to (the GOP or) Trump himself (e.g. regarding his USA [2025] NSS document, which includes discussion of what I'd call the plan for exclusive domination of the entire Western Hemisphere by the USA, besides other things that are alluded to in that document that's been in the news for some time now) has been just one (& I suspect the most outstanding) red hot theme/topic that's been in the news worldwide since the beginning of 2025, geopolitically/economically speaking. That would also apply (as far as I can make out) in relation to themes/topics that are of great interest to many LinkedIn users since at least that long ago (and perhaps that's also true for many other people who are currently alive on this planet). That's also probably the case even if one excludes a lot of our own fellow countrymen who may have nervously/angrily more or less kept up with the torrent of major news events that have occurred within the last year or so (even if confined to the mention of such developments that have originated from within the USA) which began at the start of Trump's 2nd term as POTUS.

Anyway, at times I've offered my own opinions/observations/concerns (e.g. re: Trump) on LinkedIn. If you wish, click on the link that I provided within my first Post in this chesstalk Thread (I hope that link works for you, or for any other chesstalk viewers besides myself) - it leads to a LinkedIn 'feed' of mine, so as to view something that's quite relevant to the discussion here. Namely, to a relatively fresh 'LinkedIn Post' of mine, with all of the 'LinkedIn Comments' that are about it so far being Comments that have been given by me (that 'LinkedIn Post' & some of the 'LinkedIn Comments' for it were last edited by me as recently as today). To say the least, nowadays a lot of Canadians (and quite possibly many people worldwide) are questioning Trump's health/sanity,

Sorry if you or anyone else have been out of the loop about much of what I've mentioned in this chesstalk Thread (otherwise, in its context, hopefully I'm not going to be in a tiny minority re: how I've applied 'Let's Play What Do We Know' (a catchphrase used in the popular 'Mathnet' educational segment on the old children's show 'Square One TV').


[Matters that are slightly off topic:]

I'd crudely describe LinkedIn as a huge sort of website/database; it uses an algorithm that's a bit mysterious, that may annoy LinkedIn's users now & then, in regard to getting 'traction' (i.e. attracting 'significant' attention to their own Posts etc.).

Regarding some other (e.g., notably chess[variant] related) ideas for LinkedIn usage by its Members (what I'd term 'no-frills' LinkedIn Membership is free to apply for), in my own case (I'm a LinkedIn Member, being of 'young Senior' age) when I'm not Posting/Commenting about real politics etc. on LinkedIn, I sometimes/often use LinkedIn to 'LinkedIn Message' 'LinkedIn Connections' that I know, &/or that I have connected with, that are Members on that site. Such 'LinkedIn Messages' from me are currently largely about (if for nothing else than trying to satisfy my urge to have what I call 'altruistic-based highs') attempting to swiftly &/or easily/freely significantly help to promote the cause of chess &/or chess variants (see 'Aside', below), potentially worldwide. That's including by my [relatively slowly] continuing to try [to more or less steadily] build my own LinkedIn 'Network' of 'Connections' [usually by me initiating the issuing of 'Invitations' that I send to other LinkedIn Members to 'Connect' with me, invitations which I often/sometimes send to LinkedIn Members whom I think might be even remotely interested in chess[variants], with one possible use of that [relatively slowly] built-up 'Network' of mine being to one day alert known [offline/online] chess[variant] organizers/players [e.g. on LinkedIn itself, such as using 'Messaging' there] about the existence of some/many of these [appropriate/potential] organizers/players whom are in my LinkedIn Network).

{'Aside'}: As my more 'short term' ongoing LinkedIn 'pet project': I've also attempted to [relatively]rapidly promote chess[variants}, i.e. over relatively short periods of time [sometimes with my taking breaks of several 'days off' or longer], I've alerted by LinkedIn Messaging at least some/many such folks that are in my Network to the existence of what are termed [Chess (variants) related] 'LinkedIn' [social] 'Groups', and also to similarly try to spread the word that the RA Chess Club in Ottawa exists to any Connections that I might have whom I can see online that are in/near our National Capital region - I don't have any clue, as yet, if a single new member of the RA Chess Club discovered the Club by doing that, however, but as far as I can guess I've succeeded in helping rapidly grow the number of LinkedIn Members who have 'Join'{ed} one LinkedIn 'Group' (i.e. Croatian chess', perhaps only a slight misnomer, as the Group's owner is Croatian & runs a company promoting a large number of chess variants) that's devoted to all kinds of chess variants being discussed/promoted within it, a 'Group' that's Publicly viewable by non-Group viewers.

Trump has in my opinion bounced back somewhat after the abysmal failure that was/is the Epstein files. Capturing Maduro without taking casualties could turn into a disaster, but could also be great, it's too early to say. Sending ICE to Minnesota to collect up the fraudsters is a big win. I suspect the proportion of fraud in Canada is much greater than the US. See Freeland and Ukraine, as a high-level example.
