Mr Suzuki is busy these days as the inconveniently cold winter makes it more difficult to sell his dogma. Governments are realizing that those idiotic contracts they signed are idiotic and resorting to legislation to abrogate their agreements. Governments lying? Who would have thought? Look for this scenario to play out in Ontario when the government changes or maybe even before.

Oh Vlad, I just finished reading that post. It cracks me up. I was thinking of posting it myself as an example of how "over the top" some of the denial arguments are. Sure, like there is this global conspiracy of climate scientists perpetuating a hoax to enrich themselves. Come on, you really believe that? Reminds me of a movie.......just substitute in "a trillion dollars"

Talk to some real scientists off the record. They say the same thing. Just add something about climate change to your proposed research no matter how ridiculously tenuous it might be and boom you get approved.

Maybe we need a new reality TV show.
Contestants play around with the models on their laptops trying to save mankind.

Lets put aside for a moment your logical fallacy which is the appeal to authority implied that if rocket scientists sign off on something that it has to be true. It doesn't even appear that the authors of the study are rocket scientists nor were they funded nor were they in any way endorsed by NASA. As usual your source of research reports is untruthful and misleading. Your use of dailykos as a reference is laughable though what I did find interesting was the graph of attitudes toward global warming which seem to be trending in the right direction from my point of view which is that the dangers are exaggerated. They can't seem to publish a link to the original study because it isn't worth the paper it was originally printed on or perhaps there was this embarrassing problem of people looking at the study and speaking about the flaws.

The study itself was done by a political scientist and one of those climate "scientists" *snicker* apparently. NASA is disavowing any connection to the study. Why must climate scientists and the left lie if their true objective is a search for the truth? Rhetorical.

Really. You are going to lead with that? If the earth has enough resources for a maximum of 2 billion people what about the other 4.9 billion people who somehow are managing to coexist with the first 2 billion. Their existence seems to contradict a basic assumption that is being made here.

Common sense would suggest that all this human activity since the Industrial Revolution probably has had SOME effect on climate. But all these over the top statements about the imminent collapse of civilisation (based on human-created models plus speculation) are not very helpful, and only serve to erode the credibility of the groups making them (but yes, they do get attention). I for one am much more concerned about current problems between Russia and the West leading to a nuclear war. It's a lot clearer what effect THAT would have on human civilisation, and a lot sooner.
