Also, it seems that there may not be more than three suitable tables for matches - in which case we may have to limit the event to six teams. So the next two teams to enter will be guaranteed entry - others will depend on table space - there are for certain three tables which normally seat eight diners and are ideal for doubles chess. If we need more we may be out of luck. So please post your intent to play here or you may end up as a spectator (which you will probably enjoy immensely).
We also have one player (Karl Sellars, 2213 CFC) who needs a partner, so let us know if you are interested.
What about a blitz tournament after? I'm sure this will attract more players.

Yes, good idea! But I don't know when the bughouse will finish so can't suggest a start time for blitz. So, OK, let's say we will have a blitz tourney starting about 4 or 4:30 if there's interest.

A late withdrawl by Roman Sapozhnikov leaves us with only 3 1/2 teams for the doubles tournament. Can someone fill in ?

        Eric Hansen/Robin van Kampen
        Victor Plotkin/Mark Plotkin
        ................../Nicholas Vettese
        Tomas Krnan/Peter Vavrak

Now Nicholas Vettese will not come if we can't confirm a partner soon!

I greatly regret holding a bughouse instead of our regular rapid! Thanks guys.:(

I am coming down there without a partner and planing on joining up with whoever was available, with preference to some of my old teammates.

                  Victor Plotkin/Mark Plotkin

Final Standings in the Bughouse tournament were as follows >>>>

                      1st: Victor & Mark Plotkin 11 – 1 ($200 First Prize)
                      2nd/3rd: Hansen/van Kampen, Krnan/Vavrak 6 – 6
                      4th: MacLeod/Vettese 1 point

Team Plotkin was unstoppable under the leadership of young Mark who seems to have made a study of bughouse chess.
Nine-year-old Nicholas Vettese scored the only point for his team when he checkmated one of the GM’s. Hart House veteran bughouser (or is it housebugger?) – darn and I always pride myself on my correct English. Anyway, Dave MacLeod couldn’t seem to get his game to click.
Next Saturday, we resume our regular Rapid tournaments.
