    Re: 2014 Canadian Open Announcement

Remember that Chesstalk has a problem displaying "plus" signs, so the lack of a "-" or an "=" denotes a win. :-)

Thanks Nigel for keeping that up to date. That said, the link for Group B Standings and Pairings changes every day. I would suggest players to go on the tournament website : http://echecsmontreal.ca/co/suivre_en.html

As far as I know, a lot of people got 3.5/4 and would tie for first. The arbiters are making sure that we indeed have all the results correctly and we will most likely announce the winners at the CO closing ceremony (and mail the cheques for those who won't be there).

The Robin Van Kampen - Bator Sambuev game just ended in a 93-move draw so there's a 3-way tie for 1st between the Iranian GM, Maghami Ehsan Ghaem and the 2 Dutch GMs, Robin Van Kampen and Sergey Tiviakov, all with 6.5/9.

Tiviakov won. We will publish the videos of the games next week. We will publish the full list of prize winners soon, but we want to make all verifications before.

Are the results of the B section (2000 - 2400) posted anywhere?

As the tourney has ended right now, is there any chess player who has achieved an international norm for the titles?

Jason Cao got an IM norm. Section B results will be posted tonight. Sorry for the delay, we need to clear the room by midnight :)

All prizes will be posted soon.
