Final list of identification
So, a final list of identified people with thanks to Stephen Wright, Victor Arcega, and those who posted in the thread.
Stephen had the bright idea of comparing the game positions to the known games of the championship to identify with some certainty some of the people. The photos were taken during the 14th round.
Victor Arcega, formerly the chess columnist for the Albertan circa 1975 identified Rene Arcega.
Oddly enough, although the original post is only allowed to have 5 photos, that limit doesn't apply to quoted posts.

As best as we can determine, this is a prize ceremony for an event at the Black Knight Chess Clubs (hence the black knights as trophies.) Coincidentally, I probably would have been the TD for that event but have no memory of it.
left: the first on the left has not been positively identified but is surmised to be one of the tournament winners Josh Shiu. Of the rest, identified, left to right, are Peter Zingeler, Virgilio Turingan, Rene Arcega,
right; Walter Dobrich before playing 5...Bb4 against Denis Allan
